In cooperation with the Tourism Board of Riegersburg we would like to offer “delightful
days” in the volcanic region of Styria. 

The target groups are private persons and companies (group-incentives, invitations, etc...) who would like to get to know the Styrian volcanic region.

The program can, of course, be changed and adapted to special wishes, changes in the sequence of events, available budget etc.

Day 1 Friday

Trip to the Winery Wippel, Riegersburg
Tavern (Buschenschank) and winery (numerous awardinning wines) situated in a picturesque surrounding with a view to the Riegersburg. Visit of the company, wine-tasting together with typical specialities from the region.

14:30Tour continues to the Berghofer Mill - corn and oil mill, Fehring Production of various seeds, natural food products and pumpkin seed oil (awarded by the "Gault Millau” and others). Guided tour through the mill, the origins of which can be traced back to the 12th century. Afterwards tasting of different seeds and pumpkin seed oil which are traditionally and gently won with the experience of decades.

Trip to the Vineyard Winkler-Hermaden in Kapfenstein Castle It is one of the leading wineries in Austria, internationally known, award-winning wines; this business is member of the “Styrian Classic”. Commented wine-tasting.

18:00Return to the hotel
20:00Dinner at the Restaurant Fink in Riegersburg.
Inspirational Styrian cuisine (Chef Hans-Peter Fink was awarded, among other things, the “Bocuse d´Or”-Lyon and “Prix Taittinger”-Paris), “good plain food”. Extensive offer of great aged Styrian wines. Three-course meal, if desired accompanied by wines.

  

Day 2 Saturday

Departure to the Chocolate Manufactory Zotter, Bergl Joseph Zotter is probably the most creative chocolate manufacturer worldwide, as he creates a
variety of products with incredible combination of flavours of the highest and uncompromising quality. Visit of the chocolate theatre, tasting of chocolate specialities on the “Running Chocolate”, literally “non-stop” tasting. In addition to that the chocolate
manufacturer gives interesting facts about ingredients and the production of the delicacies.

9:45Departure to the Vinegar Manufactory and Distillery Gölles, Stang Anyone who speaks of Gölles, means fine schnaps. But also the vinegar has gained more and more in importance. In both branches of production Alois Gölles has won innumerable
international recognitions and awards. Guided tour through the biggest wine cask cellar of Austria, tasting of the rich selection of high quality vinegars, balsamic vinegars and distillates.

Trip continues to the Vulcano Meat products Manufactory, Auersbach Association of “Vulcano Farmers” in order to produce high-quality specialities of ham and sausages from the noble breed of the Vulcano-pig. Visit of the highly modern factory and
tasting of selected products.

12:30Trip to the Restaurant “Malerwink´l”, Hatzendorf
Lunch in the worth seeing restaurant of Peter Troißinger who chose the combination of food,
drink and art as a theme for his original and inventive creations.
14:30Continuation of tour to the Vineyard Eibel, Hatzendorf Small and nice winery in the middle of the steep and idyllic vineyards. Guided tour through
the vineyard up to the “magic place” at the pond which is a meeting point for witches and magicians. Afterwards a commented tasting of classical fruity and fresh wines.

Departure to the Winery Neumeister, Straden
One of the leading wineries in Austria with international recognition and awards, member of
the “Styrian Classic”. Visit of the highly modern and architecturally interesting business, afterwards commented wine-tasting. Afterwards dinner in the Saziani Inn or Restaurant Saziani (3 “toques”).

Day 3 Sunday

9:00Breakfast
10:00Ride to the Riegersburg with the “witch train”
Visit of the castle site.
11:30Walk from the castle to the “Wine-DUFTikum” situated at the foot of the Riegersburg. An experience for all senses, a multivision show about the history, customs; cult, magic and superstition of wine and other drinks of the East Styrian vulcanic region.

Walk to the “Turm-Schinkerei” and Vinotheque Fink, Riegersburg Producer of the "Turmschinken” (Castle Ham), a speciality produced after the recipes of Conit Formentini. Tasting of delicious high quality specialities from the “Vulkanlandschinken” (ham from the volcanic land) region, like “Turmschinken” (Castle Ham), Vulcano-Ham and Neusetzer Ham.

13:30The day is concluded in the Tavern Bernhart, Riegersburg High quality tavern (Buschenschank) with a magnificent view to the Riegersburg. Numerous
wine-recommendations, for example in the “Falstaff”, especially for red wines which are matured in a barrique, a special wooden cask.
