Volcanic Land Ham

Styrian volcanic land is simply too good for mass production. Everything that grows here is of high value. The farmers in this region refine volcanic land specialities according to this principle with all advantages that small-scale production implicates. In a very special way ham producers Habel, Anton Krispel and Gottfried Franz Fink have strived after a repositioning of agriculture. Franz Habel is farmer. Together with two colleagues he improves the Vulcano – awarded for the best Styrian Food 2001. Anton Krispel is among the most innovative agriculturists of the whole region. He does not only refine the excellent Mangalitza Bacon and -Ham, but he is also known beyond the regional borders as tavern-keeper and winegrower. With his Vinotheque and “Turmschinkerei” Gottfried Franz Fink, who comes from a restaurant-dynasty, breaks new ground. He improves an extraordinary ham with the recipe from an Italian noble family.

Riegersburg is a member of the gourmet region “Styrian Volcanic Land Ham”. The awarded business in our town is the “Turmschinkerei” Fink.
